Umbrella Strollers

Umbrella strollers are great for those traveling times when a larger, bulkier model just won’t do. An umbrella stroller is lightweight, typically fifteen pounds or less. It features U-shaped handles for an easy grip (and great for hanging up in out of the way places for storage) and a foldable frame.

Umbrella strollers come with a variety of fabrics stretched across a metal frame. This fabric creates the seating for your child. You can find a reclining umbrella stroller or even one with just a sitting position. Just consider that a reclining model would allow you to use your choice of umbrella strollers on a younger child who perhaps has not mastered sitting up yet.

You can search for a review of reclining stroller umbrella models on the internet through parenting websites. Of course, if you have more than one child, you could look into a double stroller umbrella model, a triplet umbrella stroller or even a twin umbrella stroller. Most double umbrella stroller models are the same as the twin umbrella strollers.

Of course, the best umbrella stroller is one that suits your needs and lifestyle. Some have little extras like a storage basket or an actual sun shade over the stroller. One such model is the Chicco umbrella stroller. If you want a three or five point harness system for wiggly kids, the Avalon umbrella stroller works great. And the Baby trend umbrella stroller has just the basics with a very affordable price tag.

If you have more than one child, you could purchase a tandem twin umbrella mentioned previously in the 1st Safety Seat brand or you could purchase some umbrella stroller clips. These clips are used to attach two lightweight umbrella strollers together to create a homemade version of the double umbrella stroller.

The umbrella stroller clips are a great option if a double or twin stroller price tag is to cost prohibitive. In this sense, you could go for two basic umbrella strollers along with the clips and still come out way cheaper than one double stroller. Plus, the added advantage is that you can then remove the clips and have two separate strollers again. This is perfect for those times when the parents want to split up with the kids at the mall or some other outing.

Just remember when shopping for umbrella strollers that safety is more important than the price tag. Because each stroller has different strap-in options, choose the one that best suits your child. If you have an active wiggly kid, umbrella strollers with the five-point harness should be your only choice.
